Carrot Seed Oil

I had heard of carrot seed oil but had never bought it. I was recently given a present of a bottle and it has become one of my favourites. The scent is beautiful- sweet, sharp and uplifting.

Carrot seed oil is reputedly one of the best oils for the skin, especially dry, mature skin, wrinkles, scars, eczema, dermatitis and other conditions. I used it blended in a cream with Lavender and German Chamomile- it was beautiful and my skin felt great. (Wrinkles, watch out, I have carrot seed oil and I will use it!!)

It increases the number of red blood cells so boosts energy levels (it even smells energising!)

It also regulates reproductive system hormones which would make it very helpful for PMT and the menopause. Many sources say It can help with infertility because it reguates the menstrual cycle.

it is a good oil for digestive complaints including diarrhoea and flatulence, also for coughs, flus and bronchitis.

As always treat essential oils with caution and do not use them undiluted on the skin. (Lavender and Tea Tree, in moderation are exceptions to this)

Carrot seed oil is an oil that should not be used by pregnant women

Definitely an oil to include in the next Lotions & Potions Aromatherapy Course!!
